Man arrested, another man critical following shooting outside Phoenix bar

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5)-- Police are investigating a shooting that occurred outside a Phoenix bar overnight. It happened outside the Loft Again bar near Cave Creek and Greenway roads.

When officers arrived they found a man, later identified as 43-year-old Charles Porter, with gunshot wounds. Porter was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries. 

Witnesses told officers that before the shooting, 31-year-old Brandon Mitchell had assaulted a 50-year-old man in the bar. According to Phoenix police, when Porter confronted Mitchell about the assault, Mitchell shot him.

Mitchell was at the scene when officers arrived and was arrested. Mitchell faces charges for assault and second-degree murder. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
