PHOENIX (3TV/CBS5) -- A man has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself and performing lewd acts in front of girls and teens in the Christmas aisle of a Phoenix Walmart. Kenneth Wayne Anderson, 32, faces charges of indecent exposure.
The alleged incidents happened Saturday night at the store on 19th Avenue and Bell Road. Security workers at the Walmart told police they noticed on surveillance video that Anderson was exposing himself and touching himself in the Christmas aisle of the store, while multiple women and children were around.
Police say the youngest victim was eight years old, and the oldest was 17. "The girls noticed Anderson watching them and they reported feeling uneasy at his attention, but they could not tell what he was doing," stated the police report.
Staffers who saw what was happening contacted police. Officers arrived and were able to take Anderson into custody without incident.
Police say Anderson, who is a transient, had a previous arrest and conviction for indecent exposure in Glendale, for which he was sentenced 90 days in jail and 12 months probation. And in April this year, police say he was also arrested in Phoenix in April for public sexual indecency. That case is still pending. He is due in court Dec. 9 for a status conference and Dec. 11 for a preliminary hearing. His bond has been set at $2,500.
