TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5)--Retail chain Macy's announced Tuesday it will be closing its Tempe call center.
"After careful consideration, the Macy’s Credit and Customer Services (MCCS) West - Tempe, AZ location will close in early February," a Macy's spokeswoman tells Arizona's Family in a statement.
About 800 jobs will be affected following the closure. Macy's said it plans to move its operations to its other two locations in Florida and Ohio.
The company is working on transferring some workers to one of the local Macy’s stores or to its distribution center in Goodyear. Other workers will receive a severance.
