PHOENIX, AZ (3TV/CBS5) -- A Phoenix neighborhood street is taken over by street racing, that's what one woman told us is happening on the streets near her home.

The situation has become unnerving for residents in the Laveen neighborhood. "We noticed people doing donuts at the intersection of 67th Avenue and Southern Avenue," Carol Parsons said. "Last night there was almost 200 cars."

Parsons said that has been the happening for a month straight. She said she's heard gunshots, loud music and screeching tires every Sunday night from around midnight to until 4 a.m. She said she's reported the incidents to law enforcement officials but hasn't seen anything changes yet.

Now, her biggest concern is safety. "I'm waiting for someone to get killed or hurt," Parsons said. "That's what is going to happen."

Arizona's Family news staff has reached to the Phoenix Police Department about the matter and we are waiting to hear back.
