Larry Fitzgerald returning to Cardinals for 2018 season

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5)-- The Arizona Cardinals announced Wednesday morning that Larry Fitzgerald will return to the team for the 2020 season.

The team announced that the wide receiver signed a one-year contract extension.

Fitzgerald tweeted his excitement about rejoining the team. 

"This season was among the most fun of my career," he said.

"The future is so bright for this team & I relish the opportunity to build with this talented young nucleus. Arizona is where I started and where I will finish. 2020! Let's get to work!"

This will be Fitzgerald's 17th season with the Arizona Cardinals.

Fitzgerald is the Cardinals franchise career leader in games played (250), receptions (1,378), receiving yards (17,083), receiving touchdowns (120), total touchdowns (120) and 100-yard games (49).

In December, Fitzgerald was one of 10 wide receivers named to the NFL 100 All-Time Team. The only active player in the group, Fitzgerald joined nine Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees on the NFL 100 All-Time Team.
