PHOENIX -- Two people are dead and a third is in the hospital after a shooting at a mobile home park near Grand Avenue in Phoenix.
It happened at about 6 p.m. Sunday at the Michigan RV and Mobile Home Park in area of 31st Avenue and Osborn Road.
According to police, three men, all Hispanic, were sitting in a green SUV when they were shot.
Two of the three men were pronounced dead at the scene. The third was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital. He is expected to survive.
The suspected shooter is a 30-year-old Hispanic man. A witness told police he saw the man holding his left bicep as if he were wounded as he left the scene.
Officers scoured the area and, with the help of a K-9 team, tracked the suspect to a business complex in the area of 27th and Clarendon avenues. That's where the dog lost the scent.
Residents of the neighborhood said they are used to hearing gunshots in the area.
"We hear gunshots around here all the time," Pam Woods said. "As far as being afraid to go back in, no I'm not."
Investigators have not released any details about anyone involved in the incident.
It's not clear what led up to the shooting or if the suspect and victims were somehow acquainted.
Officers said they found a second weapon at the scene, but they are not sure to whom it belongs. They also do not know which of the men, if any, lived in the mobile home park.
