PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Firefighters came to the rescue of two officers and a possibly impaired driver after a car ended up in a canal in central Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called out to the area near 12th Street and Orangewood Avenue, which is north of Glendale Avenue, at around 9 p.m.

When they got there, they saw two police officers trying to rescue the driver.

Fire crews said they were able to safely rescue all three people.

No one was hurt.

How the car ended up in the canal is under investigation.
