PHOENIX -- A teacher at a Phoenix elementary school has been arrested for allegedly molesting two students.

Phoenix police said they arrested 45-year-old Eduardo Savinon Thursday morning on two counts of molestation of a child, and one count of attempted molestation of a child.

Police were called to Alta Butler Elementary School after the principal received a call from a parent who claimed that their daughter’s teacher had touched their child inappropriately.

During the course of their investigation, police said they learned that Savinon had touched two girls in his class in their private areas.

Savinon allegedly touched the girls under their dresses, but over the shorts they wear underneath their dresses.

Police said it’s believed that the incidents occurred in the classroom, adding that on one occasion another student reportedly interrupted Savinon before he could touch one of the girls.

Savinon denied the allegations, and was booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case to call the Phoenix Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141.
