PCSO Human Smuggling Stop

Pinal County officers spiked the tires of Olivas' vehicle off the Florence Blvd exit near Casa Grande, Arizona. 

CASA GRANDE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - A man has been arrested after a pursuit involving Pinal County Sheriff deputies and for transporting four migrants in a vehicle near Casa Grande Monday night. 

According to PCSO, 29-year-old Jose Olivas refused to stop for deputies while heading westbound on Interstate 10 in a silver Chevy Tahoe around 11:15 p.m. Olivas began speeding up to 100 mph, PCSO says.

Jose Olivas, 29, was booked into Pinal County Jail. 

Deputies were able to spike the trucks tires, and Olivas got off the freeway onto Florence Boulevard and crashed into a traffic signal off the exit. Seven people were in the car, including four migrants. The four migrants were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol. Deputies released one U.S. Citizen from the scene and a juvenile U.S. Citizen was released to family members. Olivas was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail.
