GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A 17-year-old girl has died following a crash that closed westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria overnight in Glendale.

The incident occurred just after 12:30 on westbound Loop 101 near 51st Avenue.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a 17-year-old Peoria girl was driving a Jeep when she collided with another vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man.

This caused the Jeep to rollover.

DPS said the victim was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

Westbound Loop 101 was closed at 51st Avenue for nearly 5 hours, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Traffic was exiting at 51st Avenue and re-entering the highway at 59th Avenue.

Westbound lanes were reopened around 4:30 a.m. Eastbound lanes were not affected.

The crash is under investigation.
