PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Country music singer Russell Dickerson visited Phoenix Children's Hospital for a mini-concert for the kids on Friday.
"It's all for the kids, man," Dickerson said after his performance.
Dickerson said no matter how big the crowds are at his concerts, playing for this group of children is something special.
"That's the least I can do is come. Hopefully it'll bring a smile, bring a little joy and that's kind of why I'm here."
Dickerson played several songs for the kids and let them make requests. Then he made time for pictures.
"It's amazing because a lot of time they're upstairs and when you come down it's fun," Christina Dickson, a patient's mother said.
Dickerson will be performing at Earnhardt Lexus at 800 E. Camelback Road on Saturday as part of a benefit for Phoenix Children's Hospital.
