Social post criticizing Southwest Airlines

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Social media users had mixed reactions after Southwest Airlines posted a special, low-cost flight deal amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On Tuesday, the airline posted to their Facebook page that they would be offering some one-way trips for as low as $49. The deal is good as long as trips are booked by March 19, but only be valid for trips through June 6

The post quickly garnered a mixed reaction in the comments -- some praising their go-to airline carrier, others criticizing the move during the coronavirus pandemic.

In response to the outbreak, several cities in Arizona have already declared a state of emergency. Flagstaff, Phoenix, Mesa, and El Mirage all made the decisions following the most recent guidelines issued by the CDC to avoid crowds or gatherings of 10 people or more.
