CHANDLER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Chandler police say they're investigating a shooting involving two officers Friday morning. Police responded around 7:00 a.m. to a hotel near Chandler Fashion Center Mall.
According to police, officers responded to a report of something "suspicious." The 911 caller said that a woman had asked a hotel guest if she could hide in their hotel room. When officers arrived, they found a man hiding from officers in the parking lot of the hotel. At one point, the suspect displayed a gun, and that's when two officers fired their weapons. The man was taken to the hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
Over the course of the investigation, police learned that the call stemmed from a domestic violence situation involving a woman. She is expected to be okay and is not believed to be injured.
Police said that no officers were injured during the incident. The names of officers involved nor the name of the suspect have been released. Police also haven't released how many shots were fired or the condition of the suspect.
