Buckeye fire car

Investigators said it was a mechanical issue that sparked the flames.

BUCKEYE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A disturbing discovery was made after a car went up in flames in Buckeye on Thursday. Firefighters found a body inside. It happened just before 5 a.m. in a neighborhood near Apache Road and Southern Avenue. The car was parked in the driveway when the fire started. Police said the flames burned part of the home, too.

When the fire was put out, that's when fire crews found the body of a man. His name has not been released. Investigators said a mechanical issue caused the fire and it's not considered suspicious. An investigation is underway.
