BUCKEYE, AZ (3TV/CBS5) -- A Buckeye man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge after police say he shot his girlfriend.
Lacory Antonio Hall, 24, faces one count of attempted murder, one count aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of disorderly conduct involving weapons, all felonies.
The Buckeye Police Department received a 911 call on Sunday, Jan. 12, at approximately 10:30 p.m. about a shooting that had just occurred at a home near Baseline and Miller roads in Buckeye.
When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. Witnesses identified Hall as the alleged shooter, gave officers a description of him, and said he had taken off from the scene.
A few minutes later, Buckeye officers located Hall about a quarter of a mile from the crime scene and took him into custody. He was not armed at the time, but police say Hall directed officers to where he believed the gun fell out of his pocket while he was on the run. Officers were able to locate the weapon.
Firefighters treated the woman who had been shot, and then she was taken to a local hospital. Hall was booked into the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail.
