PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- August 25 marks the three year anniversary of former U.S. Senator John McCain's death, with many paying homage to McCain.
McCain's daughter, Meghan, posted a heartfelt tribute to her dad on her Instagram page Wednesday morning. "You left a void in this world by leaving it that will never be filled," said Meghan. "I miss your laugh, your humor, your wisdom, your cooking...I miss everything. I love you forever, Dad."
Cindy McCain also tweeted about the death, "Three years today you left for heaven. I miss you every second of every day!"

McCain died on Aug. 25, 2018 after a battle with glioblastoma, a form of cancer that affects the brain. McCain announced he had cancer in 2017, and died just a year later at his Sedona ranch.
Vice President Kamala Harris also paid tribute to the former senator. Harris is currently in Vietnam as part of a one-week trip through Southeast Asia. Wednesday morning, Harris put flowers on the Hanoi Memorial Site, where McCain's plane was shot down in 1967 during the Vietnam War.

Governor Doug Ducey also paid homage to McCain with a Twitter post. "Today, Arizona remembers a beloved public servant and hero - Senator John McCain," wrote Ducey. "He was the kind of leader who always put country before self, and three years since his passing, he is missed dearly."
