FLORENCE, KY. (3TV/CBS 5) -- Police say they arrested a 32-year-old man after an Arizona woman was found dead at a Kentucky hotel room Saturday morning.
Jesse A. James of Burlington, Kentucky admitted to killing 26-year-old Amanda D. Webster of Cameron, Arizona in a room he rented, according to the Florence, Kentucky Police Department.
Police responded to a call at the Home 2 Suites extended stay hotel. When officers arrived, they found Webster's body inside a hotel room.
Investigators later determined that the hotel room was rented out to James.
Just a few hours later, police responded to a call at a nearby movie theater after employees told officers that a man was "acting strangely."
Police added that James gave two false names and false IDs to the officers.
James later admitted to officers that he killed Webster inside of the hotel room during the overnight hours Saturday.
James was later arrested and booked for several charges including murder, tampering with evidence, giving false identifying information and theft of identity.
In court on Monday, he pleaded not guilty, according to local Kentucky TV station. His aunt told the station that James suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. However, this has not been confirmed by police.
Webster had moved to Kentucky for work and was scheduled to head back to Arizona with her best friend in mid December.
She is survived by her fiancé and three children.
Webster's friends and family have set up a GoFundMe account to help raise funds to bring back her body to Arizona and for memorial expenses.
