PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- American Furniture Warehouse, a popular Valley furniture retailer, is launching a new location in central Phoenix. The retailer has signed a lease with Christown Spectrum.
Real estate listings by Kimco Realty, who owns the shopping center, show the space formerly occupied by Costco as occupied by American Furniture Warehouse. The store has yet to open and Kimco Realty refused to comment about the addition of the furniture store.
The Costco at 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road had shut down last September, much to the disappointment of nearby residents who launched an online petition to keep the location open.
Arizona's Family has reached out to American Furniture Warehouse for a comment on the new space. AFW currently has two locations open, one in Glendale and another in Gilbert.
