TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS5) -- It's all clear on Tempe's ASU campus after an early morning scare centered around a suspicious vehicle.
Many ASU students and families woke up Sunday to alerts on their phones about a "suspicious vehicle containing unknown devices" near the Vista del Sol apartments, near Apache Boulevard and Rural Road. The alerts warned people to "stay away from the area."
ASU police were initially called to the apartment complex around 1 a.m. after receiving reports about a stolen vehicle.
When officers arrived and looked inside the vehicle, they saw devices that appeared suspicious. Police say that "out of an abundance of caution," they cleared the area and evacuated some residents of the apartment complex.
Turns out, there was no threat. It was later determined that the devices were from an ambulance supply company and used in the medical field, and were not dangerous.
