PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5/ADOT) -- No construction closures are scheduled along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Dec. 7-10), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

[SPECIAL SECTION: Traffic News]

The following weekend street closure is planned for construction of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway in the Ahwatukee area:

• Pecos Road closed in both directions between 40th and 32nd streets from 1 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 9) for underground utility work. Eastbound Pecos Road also closed between 24th and 32nd streets. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including Chandler Boulevard.

Drivers should focus on safe driving. Buckle up, obey speed limits and never drive while impaired.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511 and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT. When a freeway closure or other major traffic event occurs, our free app available at ADOTAlerts.com will send critical information directly to app users in affected areas – where possible, in advance of alternate routes.
