It's hard to forget Bruno, the chubby, err, "extra" cat that gained fame on the Internet due to his hefty size (25 pounds!) and his penchant for standing on his hind legs.
The so-called "standing kitty" is a 7-year-old polydactyl (extra toes!) cat who has been looking for a forever home.
Bruno was said to be perfectly healthy other than being overweight, which he has been working on with diet and exercise.
Bruno is described as very chatty as has several quirky traits, like sitting on his hind legs. He was not trained to do that, he just enjoys it. You can watch a video of him doing his trick here.
The shelter's website stated, "One thing is for sure, people love how extra he is."
Well, after his story, photos and videos went viral, hundreds of applications poured into Wright-Way Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in Morton Grove, Illinois about 30 minutes north of Chicago.

After screening hundreds of potential new owners, shelter workers found an ideal candidate to adopt this guy. His new owner, named Lauren, is a Chicago-based actress and singer. She so wanted to adopt him, she sent in a recommendation from her boss, a letter of intent, footage of her apartment, and an original song all about his hulking mass and highly specific needs.
We're told his new mom already bought him a feather wand toy (the only thing he'll play with) and set up a water bowl in her bedroom (because he won't drink in the kitchen.)
Sounds like this kitty will be sitting pretty.
You can follow Bruno's adventures on his Instagram page, which describes him as 25 pounds of solid love. His followers describe him as a "tub of kitty awesomeness" and have created hashtags like #felinebodypositivity and #curvycatsrock.
