GLENDALE (3TV/CBS 5) -- A 3-year-old boy has died after being found in a backyard pool Sunday.
Glendale Firefighters say the boy and his family attended a Fourth of July party at a Glendale home with about as many as 20 adults and 12 children in attendance. Officials are not sure how long the child was underwater when someone at the party found him. The boy was immediately pulled from the water and given CPR until first responders arrived.
It is not immediately clear how the boy was able to make his way into the gated and locked pool area. Medics took the boy to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition. The Glendale Fire Department confirmed Monday morning that the child died.
An investigation by Glendale Police is underway.
