Nest of baby rattlesnakes found at McDowell Mountain Park

It was quite a discovery for a park ranger at McDowell Mountain Regional Park Friday.

In fact, it left park officials "speechless."

A post on the park's Facebook page shows a picture of more than a dozen baby rattlesnakes.

"Ranger Amy" from McDowell Mountain Regional Park encountered the den as she was cleaning out the tortoise habitat.

She estimates that there were 18 baby rattlers in the den. (We bet the uninvited guests really rattled that poor tortoise!)

The babies have been relocated, and the structure is once again a single-occupancy home inhabited by the tortoise.

It's very rare that we here at Mc Parks are left speechless; however, this photo shot by Ranger Amy from McDowell... https://t.co/TIUmsVoxgP— Maricopa County Park (@MCParks) August 26, 2016
