9 family-friendly festive fall events happening this weekend around the Phoenix area

Phoenix (3TV/CBS 5) – We are about a week out from Halloween and that means all the fall events are happening around the Valley this weekend. Most of them are family-friendly from Oktoberfests to early trick-or-treating events, there is plenty to do to keep you spirited and celebrating the season.

1. Gilbert Oktoberfest

Polka music, German food, games and much more can be found this weekend at the Gilbert Oktoberfest. It is family fun for everyone. Local breweries will also be on site with their special beers and food will be available including bratwursts, pretzels, and much more.

When: Saturday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Gilbert Regional Park at 3005 E Queen Creek Road in Gilbert

2. Halloween Monster Bash

Celebrate Halloween in your costume at Peoria Sports Complex. There will be plenty of games, food, and fun activities for the whole family to check out.

“The Peoria Halloween Monster Bash is the place to be this Halloween,” said Peoria Arts and Events Manager Marylou Stephens. “Not only is it a safe place for kids to trick or treat, but it is also a family friendly event where there is something for everyone to enjoy.” 

When: Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

3. Creep Candy Crawl

Children and families can dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes for a costume contest and enjoy trick-or-treating around Desert Marketplace. There will be game, music, prizes, and much more to enjoy.

When: Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: Desert Marketplace at 21001 N Tatum Blvd in Phoenix

4. City of Mesa’s Día de Los Muertos Festival

Celebrate the memory of your loved ones with the annual Día de los Muertos Festival this year in Mesa. There will be music, food, shopping, and other fun activities.

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Mesa Arts Center at One East Main Street in Mesa

5. Boo & New at Scottsdale Quarter

Get festive this year at the Boo & New event at Scottsdale Quarter. Saturday’s events will kick off with some goat yoga, cake decorating, fall floral arrangements, and much more. There will also be a beer garden, food vendors, and crafts for everyone to enjoy. Plus, there will be a doggie costume contest and some trick-or-treating.

6. Vintage & Vino Fall Sip & Shop Market

Shop local at the Fall Sip & Shop Market this weekend. There are over a hundred vendors with different vintage, antique, and handmade goodies for purchase. There will also be classes and activities for the kids. It's like a market filled of Etsy items that has come to life. And it's the perfect time to shop before the holidays. 

When: Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre at 20464 E Riggs Road in Queen Creek

Cost: General admission is $5. Kids 12 and under are free. If you want to participate in the Wine Package, it's $28 online.

7. Polo Championships

The Scottsdale Polo Party returns for 2021 with a bunch of fun events, polo matches, music, and much more. There will even be a fashion show and even one for canines. It's an all day event at the perfect time of year in Arizona. 

When: Saturday. Gates open at 9:45 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.

Where: Polo Field at WestWorld of Scottsdale at the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. in Scottsdale

8. Family Fall Festival event

GiGi's Playhouse is hosting a fall festival for families with games, snacks, face painting, and more. Everyone is welcome to dress up in costume

9. Strange Garden

Head over to the Desert Botanical Gardens for a fun event for the kiddos with fun tricks and much more. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume and bust out their best dance moves. Kids 12 and under will get to take a pumpkin home too. There is event a Spirit Walk for adults over the age of 21.

When: Friday and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
