8 things to do Father’s Day weekend around the Phoenix area

1. Downtown Tempe Foodies Stroll - Brunch Stroll

Taste and sip over ten Tempe spots on this brunch stroll in Downtown Tempe. There will be small bites and drink specials. List of places include, Alter Ego, Daily Jam, Fat Tuesday Tempe, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Original Chop Shop, Pedal Haus Brewery, and much more.

When: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: 5th and Mill avenues

Cost: $5 for Access Pass ($8-10 for food/drink options at each place)

2. Diamondbacks City Connect Jersey Launch Party

Head over to Four Peaks Brewing Co. on Friday to celebrate the Diamondbacks City Connect Jersey all day. Meet former players, buy some new merchandise and drink special Serpientes beer made special for the launch party. The new jersey be worn by the team on July 16 when they play the Cubs, July 30 when they play the Dodgers, August 13 when they play the Padres, and for their three-game series against the Dodgers during Hispanic Heritage Weekend September 24 to 26.

When: Friday at 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

3. Octane Raceway

Celebrate Father's Day at Octane Raceway this year with their 12th Annual Man Brunch. It comes with three options - brunch only, brunch and racing, or brunch and virtual VR session.

When: Sunday

Where: Octane Raceway at 9119 E Talking Stick Way in Scottsdale

Cost: Ranging from $20 to $60.

4. Mavrix Dad-a-Rama Brunch and Fun

Dad can enjoy a nice brunch at Mavrix on Father’s Day this year either before, during, or after a game of bowling. Also, you can submit a picture of your dad for their slideshow that will be displayed in Mavrix’ 16-foot screen trophy room. Brunch comes with a variety of fixings.

When: Sunday

Where: Mavrix at 9139 E Talking Stick Way in Scottsdale

Cost: Brunch is $20 per person but if you add bowling it is $40 per person.

5. Father's Day beer tasting

Let the dad in your life enjoy a beer tasting at Tempe Marketplace all month long. Guests can get a Beer Passport at three locations around the marketplace. If you earn two stamps on the passport, you can get a $5 gift card for Bar Louie or Twin Peaks that can be redeemed at the security office. Additional gift cards can be won, as well.

6. Father's Day with the Diamondbacks

Take dad to a game of baseball this year on Father's Day. First 15,000 dads get a Diamondbacks Hawaiian shirt.

7. Park After Dark

Starting Saturday, every Saturday through September 11 there will be live music, outdoor activities and other family-fun events at Park After Dark. There will be food and drinks to purchase well from local restaurants and pubs/breweries. 

When: Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 6th Street - 24 East 6th Street in Tempe

8. Scottsdale Beachfest

There is a whole experience coming to Scottsdale now through June 27 involving beach volleyball. The event will be taking place inside with air conditioning and will have ten days of tournaments and more. There will be food to purchase and cool exhibits to check out too.
