PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- A beloved Phoenix eatery that closed its original location after 31 years has announced the opening date for its new location. Community favorite Chino Bandido decided to move from its original location near 19th Avenue and Greenway Road to 3rd Avenue and Bell Road.
Chino Bandido owner, Eve Collins, announced on Tuesday her new location will open on Thursday, July 8. The new location will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. It will feature an expanded kitchen to whip up the restaurants handmade from scratch dishes such as their jerk chicken, jade red chicken, black beans, refried beans, jerk fried beans, white rice, and of course, Snickerdoodles. One of the things Chino is known for was being featured on Diners, Drive-In's & Dives in 2011.
To help keep their loyal patrons happy during construction of the new restaurant, Collins and her staff set up a food truck outside of their new location for several weeks to continue serving up some of their menu favorites. The restaurant shut down the food truck service on June 13.
