It's been a scorcher of summer so far. Will this be the year we break the record for most days when the mercury soared to 110 degrees are higher?

Meteorologists say maybe. We've already had more than the average -- both all-time (11) and between 1981 and 2010 (18). The record -- 33 days -- was set in 2011.

We're not the only one seeing super hot temperatures. The National Weather Service this week warned that "a massive “heat dome” is settling in over the central United States."
