SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS 5) - Julie Angileri is a nurse practitioner who makes house calls and works with patients suffering from dementia.

"For me, just getting a smile out of a patient is amazing," said Angileri, "especially if they haven't smiled in a year. I just love my patients. I really do love my patients."

But Angileri's kindness and caring don't end when her home health care visits are over.

In Angileri's spare time, she runs Hope Grows Garden, a nonprofit community garden in Scottsdale devoted to providing fresh produce to moms and kids with cancer and seniors in need.

"I can't tell you how many times people say it's a TV dinner again tonight," said Angileri. "I'm like, 'When was the last time you had a salad? I've got an eggplant. You want an eggplant?'"

Jane Pavkovich has seen firsthand what a difference Angileri has made with her husband Steven and how she's helping others with Hope Grows Garden.

"She's not only a good health care provider, her heart is in it," said Pavkovich. "She does care about us."

She wanted to show her appreciation Angileri. So Pavkovich reached out to CBS 5 to Pay It Forward to the caregiver and give her $500.

"I wrote a letter to Channel 5 to Pay It Forward because I wanted to acknowledge the kindness and work that you do for people here in Arizona. Here is $500," Pavkovich said.

"This is perfect," said Angileri. "This is amazing."

"She was a gift to us," said Pavkovich.
