MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - Some Arizona families might be noticing it's getting a little more expensive lately when it comes to buying groceries. That's why the Arizona's Family Surprise Squad recently went to a Fry's supermarket in Mesa to surprise shoppers by buying their groceries. 3TV's Gibby Parra walked up to a couple in a checkout line. "My name is Gibby. I'm with the Arizona's Family Surprise Squad along with your Valley Toyota Dealers. How would you feel if I said, 'Let me buy your groceries?'"

"Okay, sure," said the woman named Natalie. "Today, your groceries are on the Valley Toyota Dealers and Arizona's Family Surprise Squad. We are buying them." "Oh, awesome. Thank you," replied Natalie.

Parra then wandered down an aisle and stopped a woman named Francine who was shopping. "My name is Gibby. I'm with the Valley Toyota Dealers' Surprise Squad. When you are done shopping, I want you to go to (checkout line) 16. You want to know why? I want to buy your groceries today. Are you alright with that?" Parra said.

"What's the catch?" Francine asked. "There is no catch," Parra answered. "It's just that Fry's, along with Arizona's Family Surprise Squad, we want to buy your groceries today. So when you're done shopping, I need you to go to No. 16. You tell them Gibby sent you and your groceries are on us."

Throughout the year, Arizona's Family partners with Fry's for various charity drives, and this particular store is always up and the top in helping to raise funds. That's why Parra decided to surprise Chris, the store manager as well. "You know, because we're part of the Valley

Toyota Dealers Surprise Squad, I want to tell you something. I'm here to surprise you, too. Because your team is awesome, we want to donate $1,500 to you and your team to throw a party for your team. Because your team is always giving back to the community."

"Are you serious?" Chris asked in disbelief. "No way." "So our surprise to you is to give $1,500 to you and your team. I want you to throw a party for them. That's our way of giving back for all you guys do," said Parra.

"Thanks, Gibby. That's awesome," Chris said. "Thank you so much. It's going to be an amazing party. Thank you so much." "I love doing this," Parra smiled. "I could do this all day."
