The Arizona woman who survived the nation's deadliest mass shooting got a huge surprise on Thursday.
Jovanna Calzadillas was all smiles when she saw her brand new 2018 Toyota Highlander from the Valley Toyota Dealers.
"I'm speechless and I'm shaking," said Calzadillas.
The dealers took care of everything, including the tax, license and gift fees. They also paid for insurance on the SUV for one year.
Calzadillas said it was impossible to fit her wheelchair and her family in her old car.
With her husband out of work, getting financing for a new one was tough.
"I hope it brings them back to normal, more normalcy," said Brent Berge with the Valley Toyota Dealers.
She said the new SUV is a huge blessing.
"It's out of this world. I never expected anything like this. I would have been fine with people sending cards and saying, 'Get well soon,' but this is beyond amazing," said Francisco Calzadillas, Jovanna's husband.
Calzadillas was one of hundreds injured while attending the Las Vegas festival in October. Doctors have called her recovery a miracle since they originally thought she wasn't going to make it. She was released from the hospital in January and has been confined to a wheelchair ever since.
Earlier this year, 3TV's Surprise Squad, sponsored by Your Valley Toyota Dealers, partnered with Safeway/Albertson’s and the nonprofit Rebuilding Together to make Calzadillas' home more wheelchair accessible.
