TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A Valley student is drumming up support to get a teacher some much needed hearing aids, and that is something good! Drew Passmonick is an 8th grader at Kyrene Middle School in Tempe. When he found out his American Sign Language teacher, Ms. Brose, needed new hearing aids and that insurance doesn't cover the costs of the device for adults - he knew he had to do something.

With his mom's help, he created a GoFundMe page. Drew wrote that Ms. Brose "is deaf and her hearing aid is broken and unfortunately she has to pay out of pocket for it.... so any donation big or small will help." The cost is about $5,000 and again, not covered by her insurance.

Since Kyrene Middle School is a family, he school's principal emailed all parents about the effort to help raise money for Ms. Brose and many have contributed.  If you'd like to donate to help this teacher get a new set  of hearing aids, click here to do so.
