PEORIA, AZ (Something Good) -- From putting out fires to responding to medical emergencies and everything in between, our firefighters and paramedics go above and beyond every day. Saving lives is their job.

Something they also do so well? Making people smile. And that is something good!

A post on the Peoria Fire-Medical Department's Facebook page caught our eye. It was about a little boy who wants to be a firefighter when he grows up being sick on his fourth birthday. After his mom contacted the department, Engine 195 drove by his house to wish him a happy birthday!

Peoria Fire said, "We are fortunate to have a community that supports and appreciates the fire department," the agency wrote on its Facebook page. "Care for each other!"

Mom posted the photos on social media, as well, writing, "For his birthday, the Peoria Fire-Medical Department drove by and waved, briefly flashing their lights, turning on the siren, and honking the horn. Absolutely made this kid's day - he said it was the best day of his life. Thank you! ♥"
