GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) --  When an East Valley teacher told her 5th grade classroom about her brother's fight against cancer, her students immediately wanted to help. And boy did they ever!

Becky From is a teacher at Riggs Elementary School in Gilbert. She recently shared the news of her brother being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma and how her 11-year-old daughter Madison held a lemonade stand to raise money for his family.

One of her students, Colter, wanted to do the same. So Colter sat out one weekend and raised nearly $800 in two days! But that was just the beginning.

He and Madison inspired classmates to also do something good. So other students have been out every weekend selling snacks and bracelets as well.

So far, From says her incredible students have collected almost $5,000 for her brother's family! He has two young kids and his cancer battle is just beginning, so this money will be a huge help.

From wrote to Arizona's Family, "They truly have hearts of gold and it gives me chills knowing that they have sat out so many hours in the heat to raise money for my brother’s family, who have a long road ahead of them! With so many bad news stories, this is a great one that shows there is still kindness in the world!"

There sure is!
