PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- There are thousands of kids in the foster system in Arizona, all looking for a quality home to call their own. Through our Finding Forever series, we are connecting you to kids who are looking for a loving home. Today we meet a young man who has athletic aspirations.

Gabriel is a big football fan, so he was quite excited when he learned he would be heading to State Farm Stadium to meet a former NFL pro.

"Football, basketball," said Gabriel, mentioning just a few of his hobbies.

This shy kid loves sports, video games, and making people laugh. Former Arizona Cardinals Linebackers Tyronne Stowe met up with Gabriel outside State Farm Stadium to toss around the football.

"How's the school been?" Stowe asked. "What grade are you in?"

As the two played catch, Stowe ask Gabriel about his future and offered up a mantra Stowe said helped him in the past.

"Everything everyone's ever accomplished, they said it first," Stowe said. "So you gotta use that principle. You gotta speak it."

Alana Woodworth is Gabriel's adoption recruiter. She said he is shy at first but opens up quickly. Woodworth said Gabriel would do great in a two-parent household that does not have young kids. He thrives in more peaceful settings, she added.

"Gabriel is very warm-hearted, he is very loyal to his family, and he is really wanting to be part of a family," Woodworth said.

She said Gabriel is compassionate and has a lot to offer, and this former NFL player cannot wait to see what Gabriel does with this life.

"You matter, and we want you to keep us up on your dream," Stowe said.
