PHOENIX (Finding Forever) -- These Finding Forever segments are where we connect kids eligible for adoption with our Arizona's Family viewers. Our latest featured child would get along famously with our Scott Pasmore. Owen loves all sorts of fast cars, and he recently got quite a treat with a visit to a place with plenty of them, the Martin Auto Museum in Phoenix.
As he toured the museum, Owen did not need any lessons on the cars. "I need to see this Ford; they are really nice," he said as he passed rows of historic cars. New, old, fast, and slow, Owen got to see all kinds. His favorites car in the world is a Bugatti. "It's a very expensive car," he said.
Owen is an energetic teenager with a lot of love to give. "I care about people," he said. "I care about my buddy, James. I give him hugs every day." James is Owen's group home guardian and says the 16-year-old loves everything from outdoor activities to lazy days on the couch.
Owen had a tough start as a kid, as some do in foster care. James said a good fit would be parents who are willing to take some time. Owen is on the autism spectrum and high-functioning, according to James. He said structure would do Owen well in a forever family.
"[He needs] someone who is patient, very loving, someone who really cares about people," James said. "Fun and outgoing." If parents can do that, James said they will get rewarded tenfold by this young man's abundant love. "I think he will bring happiness, and he will bring love if that family is looking for love," he said. "Or someone who wants to attach to them or feel dependent, they will get that."
