Investigators are trying to determine how a Valley home caught fire and had several explosions.

The fire started shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday at a home near Price and Riggs roads in Sun Lakes.

Chandler firefighters assisted Sun Lakes crews as they battled the fire for over three hours.

Two people who were asleep inside the home made it out safely thanks to smoke alarms.

The fire started in the garage, damaging two cars and the roof

Firefighters think chemicals being stored in the garage caused the explosions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
