EVENT: 9/11 Tower Challenge

PARKING: Free parking available in Lot G.

REGISTRATION: Early registration fee is $35 prior to Aug. 25. Pre-registration guarantees participants a t-shirt, swag bag and completion coin on the day of the event. Beginning Mon., Aug. 26, the registration fee will increase to $40. 

SPECIAL: Those unable to complete the stair climb and kids under age 12 are invited to participate in a four lap, 2,071 step concourse walk and roll. 

DESCRIPTION: Hundreds of active and retired first responders, members of the military, public safety supporters and Valley residents will climb 2,071 stairs at Gila River Arena in Glendale beginning at 8 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 11. 

The climb honors first responders who lost their lives at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and recognizes those who continue to protect us from foreign and domestic threats. There were 110 floors and 2,071 steps in each of the Twin Towers when the buildings collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001. 

Photographs of fallen heroes will line the stairs during the challenge, giving participants the opportunity to acknowledge those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of others. 

Community members can pre-register to participate in the 9-11 Tower Challenge for $35 per climber prior to Sun., Aug. 25. Pre-registration guarantees participants a t-shirt, swag bag and completion coin on the day of the event. Beginning Mon., Aug. 26, the registration fee will increase to $40. 

Presented by the 9-11 Tower Challenge Foundation, proceeds will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona and Arizona Fighter Country.
