One need not wait until summer to swelter.

The sizzling vocals of Veronica Swift, backed by legendary jazz pianist Benny Green and his trio, come to the Tempe Center for the Arts Lakeside Room on April 20 for a special National Jazz Month engagement presented by Lakeshore Music, Inc.

She’s 24 and as hot in jazz as a Tempe parking lot in July.

“It’s not often you hear one so young interpret the sounds of a seasoned jazz performer and make everything she touches her own. That’s Veronica Swift!” according to entertainment trade magazine Variety.

Green, it is said, possesses the history of jazz at his fingertips with his decades of real-world experience playing alongside no less than the most celebrated artists of the last half century.

“Benny Green has been a friend of Lakeshore Music since his first performance with us in October of 2008[LS1] ,” said Woody Wilson, founder, president and executive producer of Tempe-based Lakeshore Music. “To match Veronica’s voice with Benny’s piano is one of the most brilliant jazz pairings of the past 20 years. Veronica and Benny have been touring the world this year and elevating the stature of jazz wherever they go.”

Green brings along David Wong on bass and Aaron Kimmel on drums.

This show's hot. It’s National Jazz Month. And it’s at Tempe Center for the Arts on April 20!
