Olivia Fierro

Good Morning Arizona Anchor
Olivia Fierro

Olivia Fierro is an Emmy Award-winning news anchor who can be seen waking up Arizona viewers daily on "Good Morning Arizona." She first joined 3TV as a news reporter in 2003, just her second on-camera job after reporting in Amarillo, Texas.

In 2009, Las Vegas became home as she spent six years anchoring evening newscasts at Fox5Vegas.

She first fell in love with the fast pace of the news business while working behind the scenes at "Good Day LA." While transitioning from student intern to full-time newsroom employee, she found "her people" – the curious and the chatty!

Olivia holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in history and women's studies (now gender studies) from the University of California, Los Angeles. After graduating, she turned to UCLA's Extension Program for broadcast journalism.

A lifelong love of reading turned into a work project with the launch of Olivia's Book Club in January 2019. In 2021, she expanded the brand with a weekly podcast, interviewing bestselling authors about their books and their personal stories. Growing her role in the book community, she also hosts events for Changing Hands Bookstore, both in person and online.

Committed to the value of local news as a means of connecting people and strengthening our sense of community, she regularly donates her time to local nonprofits as a volunteer or event host. Organizations she works closely with include Chicanos por la Causa, March of Dimes, Dress for Success, Valley of the Sun United Way, and Girls On the Run.

Olivia has had the opportunity to interview influential people throughout her career, from politicians (Govs. Ducey, Brewer, Napolitano, U.S. senators, local mayors, and President Joe Biden) to athletes (Larry Fitzgerald, Diana Taurasi, Michelle Kwan,) actors, authors, and musicians.

Her favorite part of a career with Arizona's Family is the privilege of helping keep our community informed, empowered, and occasionally entertained.

Outside of work (and reading), she enjoys yoga, trying new restaurants, and watching her son play sports. She lives with her husband, son, and goldendoodle.
