Craig Allison

Weekend Anchor/City Government Reporter
WRDW/WAGT
Craig Allison

Craig Allison is a multimedia journalist/reporter for WRDW/WAGT who began his career in broadcast journalism working as a reporter, anchor and managing editor with James Madison University’s award-winning “Breeze TV.” The Virginia native also worked as a news reporter with the Harrisonburg Radio Group for WSVA News.

During his time at JMU (go Dukes!) Craig found “Breeze TV” during the end of his sophomore year in early 2019. Craig started out as a videographer and reporter, mainly covering arts stories in the local Harrisonburg community. He would later cover a gas explosion in Harrisonburg in the fall of 2020 and the following year travel to Washington, D.C., to cover Joe Biden's presidential inauguration.

Craig was promoted to co-anchor and managing editor of his campus station in his final year at JMU. He juggled that role along with a job as a radio reporter at WSVA News (92.1 FM/550 AM). His highlights from this time include interviewing former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, and anchoring the 2021 Virginia gubernatorial election show for “Breeze TV.”

Craig is excited to work with the News 12 team and wants to get to know Augusta through its locals. If you have a story idea, you can reach out via Twitter (@CraigAllisonTV) or email: craig.allison@wrdw.com.
