The Arizona State Bar has reprimanded a former U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona for leaking two classified documents to news organizations in the Fast and Furious gun-smuggling investigation.

The bar also billed Dennis K. Burke $1,200 for their expenses in the disciplinary proceeding.

Burke told The Arizona Republic that it's a fair resolution.

Burke resigned his job in August 2011 and hasn't commented publicly on his actions or the events surrounding Fast and Furious until now.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in a shootout with a gang of smugglers near the U.S.-Mexico border in December 2010.

Near the shooting scene, investigators found two weapons tied to a cache of 1,400 to 2,000 weapons that had been sold intentionally to weapons smugglers in a sting operation.
