It was one of the NBA's feel-good stories.

Alan Williams went from undrafted free agent to a million dollar contract with his hometown team.

While Williams was in Phoenix patrolling the paint downtown, his mom, Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams, was in charge of patrolling the streets of the city.

For every beginning, there is an end. The Suns waived Alan Williams on Monday, after three years with the team.

Williams was due just over $5.5 million the next two seasons. Arizona's Family was there when "Big Sauce" signed what was termed a "multi-year" contract with the team.

The North High School alum averaged 6.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in 13.6 minutes in 62 appearances over the past three seasons.
