Two people were arrested after police say they stole an expensive puppy from a store at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe in April.

Claudia Liliana Vasquez, 29, and Andrew Ray Smith, 28, walked into Animal Kingdom on April 27 and stole an 8-week-old English bulldog, officers said.

According to police, Smith sold the dog for $400 in the parking lot of a gas station.

The puppy is still missing.

The dog was valued at $6,000.

Vasquez was arrested on May 22 while Smith was arrested on May 24.

Vasquez faces one count of theft.

Smith faces one count of theft and one count of possession of dangerous drugs.
