The Phoenix Fire Department confirmed on Tuesday a second man has died after falling into an underground storage unit. His name was later confirmed by firefighters as Cristian Silaghi.

The third victim, Juan Pablo Garcia, is still in critical condition at John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, firefighters said.

Investigators said the first victim, William Tryon, died on Monday.

The initial report was that workers were pumping water from an underground grain storage facility near Third Avenue and the Carefree Highway on Monday evening when Tryon fell, investigators said.

His tech, Garcia, went down into the hole and then a neighbor, Silaghi, went to check on them and ended up in the same situation. The hole had "an oxygen deficient atmosphere."

Fire crews were able to get all three out of the underground area and taken to the hospital.

Crews said the work wasn't storm related.

Silaghi left behind a wife and two daughters.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral costs for Silaghi.
