AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A West Valley high school teacher is facing child sex crime charges after police say he was caught soliciting sex with a 15-year-old girl but was actually talking to an undercover agent.

Authorities say 28-year-old Domenik Brewer is one count of child sex trafficking after being arrested during a sting operation last week.

Court documents say Avondale police conducted an operation with the West Valley Sex Trafficking Task Force.

At that time, a decoy ad was placed on a site known for child sex trafficking and prostitution, police said.

Authorities say the ad depicted a 15-year-old girl and included phrasing that suggested it was a child. Investigators say Brewer texted the number posted on the ad, saying he was 27, to which the uncover agent said she was 15.

After the agent said she was underage, Brewer reported said, “Oh wow,” and later said, “I guess I’ll give it a try,” before asking how much money the girl wanted.

Court papers say Brewer talked about having oral sex and showed interest in “full services.” Brewer then agreed to pay $150 and continued talking about whether a condom would be used, and continued a conversation suggesting he was talking to a teen girl and high school student.

Detectives linked the phone number to Brewer, and they awaited his arrival after he said he would be coming in a black Volkswagen car. He was arrested after arriving at the agreed-to meeting spot.

After his arrest, Brewer said that he was a coach for the Phoenix Suns Youth basketball team and that they played in many areas, not just the Footprint Center. He also told a detective was a permanent substitute teacher at West Point High School in Avondale, the paperwork said.

During the interview, authorities say he admitted to knowing that he had visited a website that would lead him to escort, knew the girl in the advertisement was 15, and that they had agreed to a deal, the documents stated.

The detectives unlocked his cell phone with permission, showing text messages he had with the decoy, and later called his wife, telling her he had “f**ked up” and been arrested for child sex trafficking, telling her he tried to have sex with a 15-year-old.

Brewer was found with $160 on himself at the time of his arrest. He has since been booked into jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Arizona’s Family reached out to the Tolleson Union High School District for comment but did not immediately hear back.
