UPDATE: San Rafael Fire 100% contained

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The San Rafael Fire has been 100% contained, state forestry officials said on Sunday, May 15.

The fire started about 22 miles southeast of Patagonia on Saturday, May 7. It burned 11,620 acres within the San Rafael State Natural Area.

Two structures were lost to the blaze but there were no major injuries, according to officials.

Nearly 100 homes had to be evacuated when the fire started, but all were allowed to return.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
