CHANDLER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Every two weeks, Arizona’s Family introduces you to a deserving Arizona foster child who is looking for their forever home. In today’s Finding Forever, Ian Schwartz sat down with a young man who has music on his mind.
From pianos to guitars, Tamiru got to see it all at Brindley’s Music Center in Chandler. This young man loves to play, sing, and create music, writing lyrics about all sorts of things. While he is a bit bashful about his talents, his adoption recruit Jordyn Knight said music is soothing for Tamiru and a big part of his life. “Music is one of his favorite coping mechanisms,” she said. “It really helps him.”
Tamiru loves animals, the park, taking walks, and plenty of outdoor activities. Like many kids in the foster care system, he has faced challenges in life. Knight says a patient parent will help unlock a wonderful soul with a lot of love to give. “It takes a little bit for him to open up; sometimes it is hard for him,” Knight said. “But I think if a family is really patient and understanding with him, they will see how hard he is willing to work to better himself.” She said a family with older kids or no kids would be a good fit, allowing parents to focus on Tamiru’s needs.
Knight said Tamiru has come a long way, and his journey is inspiring to anyone lucky enough to get to know him. “They are loving and caring with you, and when they are able to open up, you can really see the strength they have,” she said.
