QUEEN CREEK, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- We Paid It Forward at Queen Creek High School to Art Sirianni, the school’s psychologist who goes above and beyond helping students.
“He cares about each and every one of these young minds, and with the pandemic and everything else, there’s even more challenges now than in the past. When I watch him work so tirelessly, he’s helped my family and so many other children at this really awesome school,” said Monty Criss, who nominated Sirianni.
Queen Creek is a large high school with over 2,400 students there. Being the school’s only psychologist, Sirianni has his challenges, but Monty and the staff there wanted to pay it forward to him because of his hard work.
So Monty and I walked up to Sirianni, and Monty said, “Hi Art, we have a surprise for you.”
“Oh, you do? How are you doing?” Sirianni asked.
“I’m good. I just wanted to personally thank you for everything you do for Queen Creek High School and all the young minds. You helped my family; you go above and beyond working weekends and holidays, and I just wanted to pay it forward to you from Arizona’s Family and Queen Creek High School. This is for you - $500,” Monty said.
“This is so not necessary, but thank you. Better than donuts. I am glad to be of service. I am glad I’m able to help when I can. Appreciate this very much,” Sirianni said, shocked.
Many parents from Queen Creek High School would agree with Monty. They have never met a teacher or anyone in the school system that has been more concerned about the students’ mental health than Mr. Sirianni.
“Sometimes we are lucky we can make a difference in a kid’s life one at a time, we work together as a team, all of us. We have nurses, we have counselors, we have administrators we all try to work on behalf of the kids at all times,” Sirianni said.
