SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- We Paid It Forward to Rosemary “Rosie” Brown, who organized a group of friends to deliver flowers to those in need.

Her friend Vicki, who nominated her, said, “She set up a group of us and every day we would come and pick up flowers, flowers that they couldn’t sell. We would end up delivering them to emergency rooms and hospitals and they loved them, just love them.”

Rosie recruited her friends from her Pickleball group, and each person has a day to deliver flowers. Because of her giving spirit, Rosie’s friends wanted to Pay It Forward to her.

We walked up and surprised her. We said, “Rosie, how are you? You have been so wonderful with the flowers and setting all this up, we wanted to Pay It Forward. Rosie, thank you for all you do.”

Rosie has been doing this for four years, and each day Trader Joe’s would provide them with flowers to be delivered.

“One Christmas about 4 years ago, I came in and a whole bunch of flowers were at the desk. Someone didn’t pick them up,” said Rosie. “So, I picked them up and took them to a retirement home and that’s how it started.”

Thousands of flowers were delivered that would have been tossed away. “Flowers do a lot for people. It puts a smile on their face and brings them a lot of joy,” said Rosie
