On May 18,2013 my family was riding ATV on the Four Peaks road. As we started down the east side of the mountain we saw this Arizona Black Rattlesnake. This was at an elevation of about 5300ft. He was sunning himself on the road. We stopped to take pictures and in due time he slithered off the road and coiled himself up in the shadows of the dense undergrowth. He was more than 36" long and as thick as any rattler that I have seen.

PetSmart and Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities to help with everyday tasks, are launching a national partnership to place more assistance dogs with U.S. veterans with physical disabilities. The goal of the partnership is to ensure more wounded veterans can live their lives to the fullest with the assistance of these amazing animals and to find volunteers to serve as “puppy raisers” for assistance dogs in training.

The PetSmart partnership with Canine Companions for Independence officially kicked off on Saturday, May 11, with a free community event, PetSmart Salutes Independence, in the company’s hometown of Phoenix. Active duty military, veterans, their families and friends were invited for family entertainment and information on Canine Companions for Independence as well as other local and national organizations providing services to military and people with disabilities. Veterans whose lives have been improved through an assistance dog shared their stories as well as volunteers who have fostered “puppies in training.”

WHERE: Heard Museum, 2301 North Central Avenue in Phoenix (Steele Auditorium)
WHEN: Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Hosts are Fox 10’s Jude LaCava and nationally-syndicated radio personality Kim Komando. Keynote speaker is Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.)
WHY: Learn if a Canine Companions assistance dog is right for you, become a volunteer puppy raiser, support the Canine Companions Wounded Veterans Initiative and meet (the adorable) puppies and trained assistance dogs.
•	Get information from local veterans’ services organizations, including colleges, health services and more.
•	Enjoy entertainment for the whole family including the Phoenix Suns Hip Hop Squad, community performances, sports team mascot appearances, contests, games and more.

About two weeks ago my Ex gave away my dogs to a stranger without telling me until now and I want them back. They are my children. Missy has valley fever and is really affectionate. Bear has two different colored eyes and likes chasing cats and is very protective. Fiona does not bark much and is very loveable, she only barks when playing. I think he gave them to someone in the parking lot of the humane society but i am not positive. He knows information to help me get them back but refuses to tell me. I am devastated that he would do this. I have my own house with a backyard for them. I miss them very much and information and help would be greatly appreciated.

A female quail laid 12 eggs in a large pot on our back porch & began sitting on them after the last one was laid. 22 days later they 10 of them hatched. The father was right there to lead them to safety when the jumped out. She stayed on the eggs until she was sure they were all hatched. It was fun to watch how involved he was even though he had use of only one leg. He hopped around on one just fine. They stayed the night in our backyard & were gone the next morning. It was so much fun watching them for the short time they were here
